GO FAGL GO

Welcome. These are called mixes. If you like the artists, go buy their music. I might do that too! More likely, if you like the artist, go see their live show.

Conquering the Hibernation

Well winter is officially done by now. Started this one off strong and I feels it says pretty strong the whole way through.

All of the skits are taken from Rhymefest's latest mixtape with Mark Ronson. They've taken samples of Mike JAckson from past interviews and recorded their own segments. It's very amusing. Try not to be put off too much by the Hercules and Love Affair. My roommate hates it so much, but there's something about it that I can't help but to like.(the vocals remind me of whoever it was that sang on Cassius' "The Sound of Violence"...too lazy to look it up currently). I love the new Tapes n Tapes album and chose this one for length and quality. It reminds me a lot of my favorite track off of their previous album which was "Ten Gallon Ascots". Saw Fleet Foxes recently and was blown away by their live show. Love the album as well and look forward to seeing them again some day. Lykke Li's album was produced by Bjorn Yttling from Peter, Bjorn, and John. You can definitely hear his presence of this track. I love the Portishead track because it sounds like Portishead with the melancholy howling still present, but the song behind her sounds much more drony or kraut rockish. Anyhow, hope you enjoyed the winter slumber. Now let's wake up and go outside. Put this on your ipod and go make love to the sun(and by that I mean go stand outside under it).

Number Whatever

A real mix of the craziness that's been on constant rotation in my car. Some of these tracks just didn't make Savage Lifestyle,, but a majority are fresh cuts. I love the video for the Sheek Louch track. Was only recently introduced to Chris Clark, so for this mix I cut down from 5 songs to what is seen here. I went crazy when I heard him. The Icy Demons track is so simplistic, but it immediately made me want to call a friend in Miami. The Snowglobe song is available on their Myspace page and nowhere else. You may also recognize it as an intro used on Doing the Distance. I don't really have much more to say. If there are any questions, comment. Enjoy.
